Before joining Landpower, Genuine was a Director of a Shanghai-based investment firm specializing in structuring Joint Ventures and Private Equity partnerships in Canadian Real Estate projects. He also played an important role opening up the Asian investor market for Walton International Group, a Bay Street Land Banking company that specializes in syndicating private equity for development land in North America.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, and having lived in Toronto just as long now, he holds strong ties to both Chinese and Canadian cultures: his aesthetic sense and eclectic taste reflects as such. With a strong passion in design and photography, and a love of jazz, Genuine often looks for opportunities to immerse himself in new sights and sounds. Genuine is passionate about spaces and objects that have soul, that inspires… whether it is through function or form. He recognizes that history, character of a space and a neighbourhood, contribute to one’s joy in life. He believes that home is one of the greatest forms of self-expression. His enthusiasm to know you, thereby clearly knowing your purpose, your preferences, your habits, will engage his best perceptions to form an opinion on what matters most to you, what you would love to surround and exhilarate yourself with on a daily basis.
Genuine takes a decidedly right-brained approach while never abandoning the left. An aesthetic driven, while analytical methodology to finding and selling homes. Because curating and ultimately selecting the ideal home for each unique individual is a science, but also an art.
Genuine was a two year co-chair for the Greater Toronto United Way Blossom Ball, one of the largest fundraisers in the city. He is involved in many other charitable causes such as Habitat for Humanity, Village Eulogia, Holland Bloorview Rehab Hospital and particularly the Logos Baptist Church (York Region), all as a fundraiser or in leadership positions.
